Assetto Corsa in Toronto: a guide to your first session
Try Assetto Corsa at Paddock Toronto in North York. Learn how to plan a session, choose a starting point and keep your game preferences separate.

THE SHORT ANSWER
Assetto Corsa is one of the games available for general sessions at Paddock Toronto. Choose it when reserving, then work with staff on the car, controls and settings for your visit.
Before you start
- Learn one car-and-circuit combination before changing everything.
- Ask about the current installed content rather than assuming every mod is available.
- Save a general Assetto Corsa settings profile after trying the setup.
01 / THE GUIDE
Get comfortable before changing settings
A useful first session starts with comfortable seating, clear control instructions and a car you can drive consistently. Spend a few laps learning the circuit before judging a setup or comparing times.
If steering or braking feels difficult to manage, ask staff for help. Making one adjustment at a time is easier to understand than changing several settings and trying to guess which made the difference.
02 / THE GUIDE
Keep game preferences separate
A setting or button assignment from iRacing may not mean the same thing in Assetto Corsa. Your member profile therefore keeps a separate general Assetto Corsa settings record. The annotated iRacing steering-wheel guide is for iRacing only.
Ask the team about the current car and circuit choices for your session. The iRacing preferred-car list is not an Assetto Corsa car catalogue, and this guide does not promise a particular mod or downloadable car.

What about an Assetto Corsa league?
The Assetto Corsa league section is coming soon. Dates, circuit, cars and rules will be announced separately. The current OSRC structure belongs to iRacing and should not be read as confirmed Assetto Corsa event information.

04 / THE GUIDE
Choose the driving experience before choosing the settings
Assetto Corsa can appeal to different kinds of visitors: someone who wants to understand a racing simulator, a motorsport fan interested in a particular style of car, or a returning driver who wants to practise a familiar combination. Tell staff which experience you want. The software title alone does not tell you every car, circuit or installed option at the venue, so confirm the current choices rather than building your visit around an assumed mod or expansion.
For a first run, choose a combination that lets you learn the controls and see the circuit clearly. A more powerful car is not automatically a better introduction. Keeping the same combination for a while helps you connect an input with its result: where the car begins to turn, how much brake pressure slows it predictably and when it feels settled enough to accelerate. That understanding is useful even if your eventual goal is a completely different car.
05 / THE GUIDE
Use a simple feedback loop to improve a corner
Begin with an observation you can explain. Perhaps you keep missing the inside of a corner, or you lose control as you accelerate out. Repeat the approach at a slightly more conservative speed and see whether the problem changes. If it does, you have learned something about the driving input before altering the car. If it persists, ask staff to help you interpret it. Changing several setup values at once makes that conversation much harder.
Think of the racing line as a way to organise the corner rather than a painted instruction to follow blindly. Give yourself room on entry, aim for a controlled direction change and look toward the exit early enough to prepare the throttle. The ideal line depends on the car and the sequence of corners that follows. The sketch in this guide shows the basic relationship between approach, turn and exit; it is not a circuit-specific telemetry trace.
06 / THE GUIDE
Keep software settings and equipment preferences separate
A game setting affects the virtual driving environment or how its signals are sent to the controls. An equipment preference affects how the physical wheel or pedals feel to you. Both matter, but changing them is not the same task. Start with a comfortable driving position, then discuss feedback and brake feel with staff. Once that foundation works, it is easier to tell whether a later change helped you drive more consistently.
Your Paddock driver profile includes one general Assetto Corsa settings record. Use it for preferences you have actually tested, along with a clear note about the experience you want to repeat. It does not automatically install content or apply a setup to the simulator. The current iRacing OSRC rules also do not become Assetto Corsa league rules by association. The Assetto Corsa league is coming soon; check its own section when details are announced.

THE DRIVING NOTEBOOK
Make your first laps count
Learn one car and one circuit first. Repeating a familiar combination makes your progress easier to feel.
A schematic racing line shows the approach, turn and exit of a corner. It is a general learning sketch, not a specific circuit or telemetry trace.
Look ahead
Look towards the next part of the circuit instead of focusing only on the car ahead.
Brake smoothly
Slow down before turning. Build speed gradually as you learn the corner.
Repeat and improve
Change one thing at a time. Ask the team for help when something feels unfamiliar.
