THE SHORT ANSWER

Paddock Toronto offers iRacing sessions in North York. The working OSRC league uses iRacing, Spa-Francorchamps and an approved GT3 selection that is still being finalized. General session preferences do not establish league eligibility.

Before you start

  • General iRacing sessions and OSRC tournament entry are different.
  • OSRC practice is one hour total: 15 minutes setup plus 45 minutes driving.
  • Qualifying performance determines Rookie, Challenger or Pro placement.

01 / THE GUIDE

Start with practice that has a purpose

Pick one skill to work on: a braking point, a corner exit or a clean sequence of laps. iRacing becomes easier to understand when you compare similar laps in the same car instead of changing several things at once.

For normal sessions, your preferred car is a request recorded with the booking. The list includes GT3 cars and other choices such as Formula 4, the Mercedes-AMG W12, the BMW M2 models, Radical SR8 and Toyota GR86 Racing. Staff confirm the selected car and equipment at the visit.

02 / THE GUIDE

How the working OSRC tournament is structured

The proposed Ontario Sim Racing Championship starts with an interest list. Dates, price and final entry rules have not been announced, so joining the list does not secure a paid entry or a confirmed practice time.

Each participant receives one weekday practice appointment lasting one hour total: 15 minutes of staff-assisted car and equipment setup, followed by 45 minutes of driving at Spa. The setup is included in the hour.

A driver’s fastest valid qualifying lap is the primary basis for placement into Rookie, Challenger or Pro. Pro is the highest tier. Staff finalize assignments; cutoff times are not yet set.

03 / THE GUIDE

Save preferences with staff

At the first practice visit, drivers work with staff on their approved GT3 car, Simucube wheelbase and brake preferences, traction control, ABS and rear wing. Registration does not require technical settings.

Staff save the settings for qualifying and race day. The website can keep a reference, but it does not automatically synchronize iRacing or Simucube. The same-car rule for qualifying and racing is proposed and awaits confirmation. There are five rigs, so no more than five drivers race simultaneously.

04 / THE GUIDE

Build a useful practice session at Spa

Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium asks drivers to connect very different kinds of corners into a complete lap. Rather than treating the whole circuit as one problem, choose a section that you can describe clearly: a braking approach, a direction change or an exit onto a longer straight. Start by making that section repeatable. Arriving at the next corner in a predictable position gives you a much better comparison than a lap interrupted by several recoveries.

Keep the practice goal separate from the qualifying result. You can learn something valuable from a slower, cleaner lap if it shows where your inputs became more consistent. For the working OSRC tournament, your fastest valid qualifying lap is the primary placement criterion. A practice lap, an invalid lap or a self-selected skill label should not be presented as a final tier assignment. Staff enter the qualifying results and finalize the groups.

05 / THE GUIDE

What the first weekday appointment is for

The confirmed practice appointment is one hour in total. The first 15 minutes are for choosing and adjusting the approved GT3 car and equipment with staff. The remaining 45 minutes are driving practice at Spa. Those first 15 minutes are included in the hour; this is not an hour of driving plus an extra setup appointment. The purpose is to help you become comfortable with the car and controls before your first qualifying session.

During that visit, discuss the steering and brake preferences that help you drive consistently, together with traction control, ABS and rear wing adjustment. You are not expected to arrive with technical values prepared or enter them into the registration form. Staff save a reference for qualifying and race day. This record supports the team’s work in person; it is not an automated connection that pushes website settings into iRacing or Simucube hardware.

06 / THE GUIDE

Read the league status before committing to an entry

OSRC — Ontario Sim Racing Championship is the working name, subject to owner confirmation. The circuit is Spa and the simulator is iRacing. The exact approved GT3 list, dates, entry fee, qualifying duration, race length and final rules still need to be announced. Joining the interest list lets the team contact you about the tournament. It does not secure a paid entry, a practice appointment or a place in a particular tier.

There are exactly three driver tiers: Rookie, Challenger and Pro, with Pro the highest. Cutoff times have not been published, and the website should not invent qualifying targets or standings. The proposed same-car rule for qualifying and racing is awaiting confirmation. Five rigs also means no more than five drivers can be on the simulators at once; a larger total field would need scheduled groups. Assetto Corsa and F1 leagues remain coming soon.
